Emirates Shipping Line visits TICTS

On 31 May, Martin Wandfluh, CEO of Emirates Shipping Line visited TICTS. He was accompanied by Captain Ajay K. Minocha, Emirates Shipping Line’s Regional Director for Africa and Captain Nithin Nath, Emirates Shipping Line’s Regional Operations Manager. Anacin Kum, CEO and General Manager of TICTS hosted the visit and introduced the development and operations of the terminal to the guests. Wandfluh was impressed by the improvements that TICTS has brought to Dar es Salaam port.

First Hanjin vessel under IDEA service

On 3 May, M/V Wave, the first Hanjin vessel under the new IDEA service, called at TICTS. A gift was presented to Captain Sergiy Romanov by John Masasi, Marketing Manager of TICTS to commemorate the event.

Maiden call of the new IDEA service

[13-04-2013]

On 13 April, TICTS welcomed the maiden call of the new IDEA service jointly operated by Evergreen, Hanjin and Simatech. The first vessel to call, the MV Tasanee, holds 2,826 TEU, and is the largest container vessel the port has handled.

The weekly service will deploy four vessels with a port rotation of Mundra-Karachi-Jabel Ali-Mombasa-Dar es Salaam.

TICTS Achieved a Record High Vessel Operating Rate (VOR)

Tanzania International Container Terminal Services Limited (TICTS) has achieved the performance of 53.2 moves per hour on PIL vessel, (Kota Akbar) in March 2013.  This performance is the highest ever achieved in a vessel operations at TICTS.  The vessel with 528 moves was served for only nine hours.

This remarkable performance on Kota Akbar is attributable mainly due to the fully-automated terminal operations, good coordination with shipping lines, well-trained people and team work among all relevant departments at TICTS.

delegation that included officials from the KPA and Tanzania Ports Authority.
