TICTS donates computers and science laboratory equipment’s to Rugwa (Nachingwea) Boys High School in Lindi Region

[Dar es Salaam, 1st July 2022]

Tanzania International Container Terminal Services (TICTS) is pleased to announce the donation of computers and science laboratory supplies to Nachingwea High School in Lindi Region. The school is a newly constructed Government School located in Nachingwea District in Lindi Region.

Donation of Computer Equipment’s and Supplies for the school computer Laboratory will enable to start the Computer Classes for science and other students. The donation will benefit more than 1600 Boys students to be  enrolled in this newly constructed secondary school. The 1st batch “A” level pupils will commence studies at the school during this month of July 2022

This assistance is  one of ongoing TICTS initiatives to support 6th Phase Government and Community projects in educational and other sectors in the country.  It is also part of our company Dock School program, a Hutchison Ports global initiative designed to provide support and assistance to the schools in port’s vicinity especially those with financial challenges.

The Donation of the Computers was received by Nachingwea District Commissioner Hon Hashim Komba.The handover ceremony was done at TICTS Offices located at PSSSF Twin Towers along Sokoine Drive in Dar Es Salaam,

Hon Hashim Komba also remarked that this Donation has come at the right time when the 6th Phase Government President  HE Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced the provision of free  education up to A Level Studies in the country

Matthew Clifft, TICTS Deputy CEO commented that, “We are very proud to support Government initiatives to provide free educations and anticipate that these Computers will enhance students’ academic performances during their studies at school”

The Total costs of these Donated items are Tshs 46,320,000. The Items were handed over to Nachingwea District Commissioner on 1st July 2022.
